Described as an athletic strengthening power yoga/primal movement program it is designed to improve balance, coordination, strength, core strength, agility, mobility and flexibility with opportunities for HIIT. You will sweat, you will burn calories. 

This is NOT your slow flow Yoga class. This is 20 minutes of hard non-stop work that although it requires no equipment, is hardly easy. 

As an experienced runner and an experienced Yogi, the style of this class combining the athletic movements with holding intense yoga positions creates a level of difficulty that is just enough of a challenge for the experienced athlete and a great beginning (with modifications if needed) to someone new to yoga. 

Not going to lie...it isn't easy. I have been lifting heavy for a year or so now and find my legs to shake holding a Warrior 3 position or crescent lunge for upwards of 4 minutes. And you're not just holding the position...she often has you doing other moves while in that hold. As a marathoner in training, I typically add this on after a run. An additional 20 minutes of core and lower body strengthening with low impact moves is perfect! 

I love that it can be done anywhere your phone connects to the internet! If I go on vacation, I can easily complete a 20 minute workout in the hotel room. 

Who is this program for? 

 ✅ Beginners (take breaks or use modifier if needed - no shame in that, still just as much of a challenge but doable!!) 

✅ Intermediates (this is where I am...after a run I have trouble holding a longer position at times because I am tired!!) 

✅ Advanced (accept the challenges she gives for various positions)

Personally I love the balance and agility work combining it with strength building with isometric holds as a runner. I do love lifting weights, but this is a nice change and it is the perfect workout to add in to your run training.
